Place-names: Scotland’s Gaelic story
Gaelic was once the main language of Scotland. No other source tells us more about Scotland’s Gaelic story than our country’s place-names. Join Dr Alasdair C. Whyte (University of Glasgow Research Fellow & Gaelic Ambassador of the Year 2019) and learn about the first Gaelic place-names recorded in Scotland, how Gaelic came to be spoken in almost every corner of the country and about the various other things that place-names can tell us, if we look at them closely enough. The event will take place online via Zoom for Gaelic speaking teenagers. To register your place, book here: https://tinyurl.com/y5tbvstb
