Fluency percentages in Choirs

Published: 15 Feb 2012

The following percentages have been reviewed and will remain as they were for this year’s Royal National Mod:

Junior Choirs - Learners’ Choirs should have no more than the agreed percentage of Gaelic Medium pupils, which for 2012 will be 50%. (This will be reviewed again in 2013)

Senior Choirs - Choirs competing in the Lovat and Tullibardine Shield and the Lorn Shield competitions must consist of at least 35% card holders, of whom one third must be beyond Bronze level. (This will be reviewed again in 2013)

Senior Choirs - Choirs competing in the Margrat Duncan competition must consist of at least 30% Gaelic speakers i.e. Gold, Silver or Bronze card holders. (This will be reviewed again in 2013)

(Please note - if the percentage of your choir works out at e.g. 10.4 or below this would be rounded to 10 members, if the percentage is 10.5 or avove then it should be rounded up to 11)
