We were saddened yesterday to learn of the death of Katie Anne Macleod (Maclean). She would have celebrated her 102nd birthday on the 18th of June this year.


Katie Anne, from South Bragar in Lewis, was born on the 18th of June 1913. She won the An Comunn Gàidhealach Gold Medal at the Glasgow Mod in 1938.

She was a resident at the Dun Berisay care home in Stornoway in her latter years.

We remember her family and friends at this sad time.
